E46 M3 or Porsche 996 C2

more people stare at the porsche... especially people who don't know much about cars and will mistaken the m3 for a normal 3 series...

Ok I have decided. Most of you were saying to get the Porsche and I was leaning that way too. I have changed my mind, however, due to a couple reasons that I might as well tell you.
(NOT IN ANY SPECIAL ORDER)
1: I am 19, I would look very odd in a Porsche
2: I will be driving the car everyday, the Porsche seems like more of a weekend car. I don't know if I would be able to drive it everyday. I know I will be able to drive the M3 everyday.
3: $20,000 difference between fully loaded M3 and partially loaded 996 C2.
4: Since it is a daily driver I will actually be able to take people along for the ride.

Well I appreciate everyone's opinion and I sure hope I made the right decision (I don't actually think there was a wrong decision).

Well I can afford it because I currently have a job and about 30 grand saved up. I am also going to school (majoring in Computer Engineering and doing pre-requisites for dental school). Another reason I can afford it is because all my other major expenses are taken care of. I don't have to pay rent, I don't have to pay for food, and my mom and dad said they would pay for my insurance.

But, given the choices I'd get the Porsche. You're going to look odd driving either one of those cars to be honest.

I would personally pick the M3. My reasons are pretty easy. I see the M3 as much more daily drivable (not that the Porsche isn't) and more exclusive. Maybe it is because of where I live (Main Line PA), but I see far more 996s than I do E46 M3s. I personally like the M3's looks better as well. Honestly, I like the 993s better than the 996s. It would be a harder choice if it were a new E46 M3 vs a C4S 993. I still think the M3 is a better choice. I think the M3 would be more fun when driven far from the limit then the 996. I have driven a 993 but no 996 or M3 so make of this what you will.

I bet I will but I would look more strange in a Porsche. There are a few people on this board alone with new E46 M3s that are under 18. I guess I'll live with my decision and I know I'll love the M3.

hahahaha I was waiting for that response!! I didn't mean like live with it in the sense that I would regret getting the car. The only reason I said it was the "what ifs." I'm so excited right now!!
