E46 M3 Brakes

Im already on my second set of brakes with only 10k miles.The first brakes were replaced for free because the dealership found a defect in them.My second set of brakes squek too early.I know the brakes aren't suppose to do this because my old 328Ci didn't squek at all with the same drivin paterns.Anyone with a E46 M3 have the same squeky brakes?

Perhaps Vince, no one needed to change the pads out of their e46 m3's yet since they are still considered new cars. Haha, just a thought.

i had that squeaking problems... &#*(%*&#$* ANNOYING

my bro used to drive an E36 323i, and he had that prob too... so i guess it's hereditary..
i replaced mine tho with ART pads... thicker, supposed to last longer... i was told that the trick is not to get the pads too hot too early... sooo... brake softly during the first few times... it worx..

You may be using your brakes so lightly that they build up a layer of glaze on them. Try a few hard applications, then see what the deal is. Sometimes when the dealership does the install they neglect to apply grease to certain points that are in contact with the caliper, and this generates even more noise.
I have racing pads that squeal like a NYC bus, but I am used to it, and this only reminds me how damn good the brakes are!

It could be when someone/you re-bled the brakes that accidentally, some of the fluid on the brake pads or on the rotors? This has happened to me before and it does make some horrible sounds... That's about all the squeekiness I have heard out of the brakes.

Just traded my 2001 in for a 2002 M3, and i found that my '01 had really squeaky brakes too. My '02 doesn't seem to squeak but it is still very new so we will see!

i will tell u that vince doesnt brake lightly, how are 100 to 20 mph braking for ya? that guy drives crazy!!!! j/k i think it is pad material that BMW is using on the M3 that isnt up to the performance that the M3 gives out. he should switch to Hawk pads and get euro rotors too.

ryan I don't brake like that.I only do it when some idiot cuts me off on the freeway.

Wow... you must get cut off ALOT... 2nd set of brakes in 10K mi!! How do you wear them down so quickly in normal urban traffic conditions? Just wondering... Vince, go easy on them brakes.

I asked the dealer about it and they say that it is brake dust. The problem is they squeek even after I hose off the dust? WTF?
