| What's the best price for E46 M3, at the moment? I would like to know how much should I expect price wise, when I sit down with a dealer for an E46 M3 Coupe. Of course the first thing they will tell me is that it is a "hot" car. Well... my come-back would be that we are officially in the recession! Anyway, I want to know if $53K is possible. If not could you guys/girls tell me the reasonable price that most M3 buyers paid? Best regards. |

| All i know is my neighbor came home with one a week ago for around 54.5K. not too bad considering people paid 10,000 over sticker to get one. if you do get the M3, will u be selling your e36 m3? |

| To MrZ3 The dealer from whom I bought my E36 M3 is going to be the same one I will deal again for the E46 M3CP. He offered $39,000 on my E36, which I think is a good value. My car is in pristine condition with no modifications whatsoever with only 22,000 miles on her. But I have a H&R Coilover set in the trunk. I'm not sure if I want to mod. my car since, I am already eye-ing on a Carbon Black E46 M3. However, unlike the E36 M3, I have concerns that E46 M3 is not as "refined" as it should be. For example, the SMG II should be faster in the shifting; believe me it is not fast enough. Sort of like that extra wait between the channel switch on a cable box! Besides, 80xE-3 seconds is NOT a blink of an eye. All the reasons to wait are there and so are the other side. But if the price is very close to Invoice, I'll take a chance. |

| I have seen new ones go for $52-$53K at my local dealership although I have checked again today, it seems like they are sold out. You may want to call in and ask when they'll have some more. I was offered new vehicles last april for prices around $56K for new vehicles (good colors like carbon black and ti silver). If you put down a deposit for one, you can get them spec'd with your personal options and get to buy it at MSRP + options cost when it comes in. I believe the SMGII option costs $2500-$3000. I'm currently awaiting my order spec sheet. Also, I heard a rumor that the feds may order a tax-free period of 10 days to boost the economy. (note: this is just a rumor I heard) Good luck. By the way what is an M3CP? Thanks.

| To Kaisake's question... E36 M3CP is a very special edition with its motor redline at 15,000 rpm. I WISH! CP, by which I meant is the "Coupe." So, the $53K that I am thinking is a good target then? By the way, Tax Free for 10 days? I don't get it. No tax if I buy within that 10 days? It would be awesome if I don't have to pay sales tax as well as that nasty Luxury tax. (Now is every dollar above $38K is up for 4% Luxury Tax; right?) Correct me. Last edited by Papiyon : 11-27-2001 at 03:25 PM. |

| In Tax free, I meant sales tax only if you buy something within a certain window of time (the Feds will announce the time frame.) This is just a rumor. $52K - $53K is a good target.
