anyone own a e46 m3 in adelaide?

hey there everyone,

im new to dtm. im just curious that anyone of u outthere own a e46 m3 in adelaide? coz i saw a black one...i reckon its an asian driving it.
and will it be possible to modify the m3 to make it faster,,faster,,faster..

ive known some friends back home and they say that the new e46 m3 will not out run a civic with a ek-9 engine.
wats your say?

In terms of stock cars the M3 is up there with Porsche 911 Carrera, Lotus Exige, etc so it would kill a Civic.

But if you talk about modified cars - then anything's possible. A Mazda RX7 Series 2 with a 13B single Turbo engine conversion will annihilate most street cars.

Well modified cars will always have a better chance a beating a stock car.

Why not compare a modified S/C E46 M3 Vs a modified Civic with a EK-9 engine?

Early S/C E46 M3s are apparently producing about 580bhp. Not sure if that's enough to beat the Civic cause I don't know enough about them, but you get the point.

ek9 is an engine..its quite famous in japan..developed by some guy name JUN..i think..

well...i'll just have to ask my fren backhome aobut his friend's car, a civic with a ek9 coz he said according to power to weight, the civic can out run a m3 but im not too sure,

btw, back to the original question. anyone seen a m3 in adelaide?

i think someone's telling porkies...EK9 is a classification of civic, much like E46 is for current 3-series although i dont think there is an EK9 civic???? probably an old one

honda engines are classified like this
B16A= 1.6 Vtec (civic engine)
B18C = 1.8 Vtec (integra engine)
H22A= 2.2 Vtec (prelude engine)

i know a fair bit about JUN Auto as several mates of mine were personal guests of old man junichi himself in japan



a complete JUN B16A will cost 700,000 yen (approx. $9972.53 AUD)
a complete JUN B18C will cost 740,000 yen (approx. $10,500.43 AUD)
price includes engine, but not installing. add to the cost suspension changes, engineering etc and it would go over $15000 easy.

both are available in street and racing specifications (racing specs include additional JUN's 1.8L custom kit, JUN titanium retainer and B18C intake valve for the B16A with the more polishing intake and exhaust ports...all in addition to a complete rebuild of the engine with will be strong as nails.
