e46 m3 track tires and wheels??

i'm lookiing to get some track tires and wheels for my e46 m3. but don't want to spend a whole lot of money since i'm just going to use them for track. i was wondering if i could throw on all the same wheels on the e46 m3. maybe 17"s x 8 all around. and maybe some advan comp tires. anyone don't want to spend over 1500 for it. anyone have some tips or advise? new to track and track setups... any help would be great.
