dan, that was a stupid comment... all of these blown motors happened under acceleration... 5 or 6 people got the reported rpms of "exactly 8560"... BMW is even claiming SMG owners overreved, which is impossible...

A BMW M3 with 9k miles shot a rod 15 yards in front of me, WOT, at around a hundred mph, on a damp track. Instant white out, zero visability, insane ABS (water and oil is not good for traction) but I was able to ride it out thanks to those big reds.

The race-prepped S Car Go Porsche that was behind me didn't fair so well anmd spun off and into the tire wal that surrounds the flag station.

With failures like this so damn well documented, BMW is going to have a tough time. I ...really don't know what else to say.

this is big. damn, im gonna shoot off an email to a friend tomorrow morning, see if we can get to the bottom of this and find out what BMW will do to solve this problem. hopefully their customer service and warranty claims department hasnt been taken over by Chris Bangle
