| I work at a BMW dealership in the Chicago area and have talked to the management about the same thing. BMW told them what most people should know is that in order to compete in LeMans racing the GTR would have to have been produced at least 1000 times with the same V8 engine. Well BMW said screw it so the E46 GTR race cars have been retired and no production of the car will take place. Also for the lightweight CSL BMW said that the car would not be worth do to the lineup of cars in the future. So sorry no super M3's will be hitting the road near you ![]()

| Threre will never be an M3 GTR for sale anywhere. You will not see one on the road or on the track. This is coming from BMW AG. So it is impossible to have seen an M3 GTR for sale. Sorry

| i remember seeing the csl that BMW brought to the hamburg auto show, the one that was stripped out and baddass, they said that there was a chance that a detuned model had a good chance of getting out into production. So, for what its worth, someone might see it. As far as the M3GTR story, Ive heard that there have been some made, and know someone that has driven one in the states. so for what its worth, they will always be a rare as hell car. |

| Yeah all I am saying is that the cars are not going into production. But some cars are still getting made just not many of them. So if someone in the states gets there hand on either the CSL or GTR then they probably one in a handful of people that will own one.

It appears to be the ultimate BMW so far in the history of the car maker. |

| Its 99.9% sure that you won't ever see a 4ltr V8 M3 racing in some years (I hear there are talks of a V8 in an M3 for 2006 ). I don't think BMW will make anymore than 5 road-going GTR's for sale. And I can't see more than one even getting to the states through a dealership. As for the CSL, that too seems to have put to a halt, although I'm not too sure about this one. They made these cars solely for racing in the ALMS, but they know that BMW enthusiasts will want some of the cars and they have to make them available to the public for the ACO, the rules body for Le Mans and ALMS, to accept the car a legal car for racing. The same went for the LTW. Tom

| Its been announces, and most people probably know, beginning in september of next yeare (2003), BMW will start building the M3 CSl with the M5 engine in it. It will sell for $100K. Only 600 are going to be made, and are all left hand drive The GTR's have been made for some shows, and some private sales, however they are not available to order from a dealer, and probably never will be. They got for $250K from BMW as a private buyer. I wish that 4.0 v8 did come out though, but the m5 in the csl will be pretty sick, they said just over 4 second 0-60. And it probably handles amazingly! |
