| CONVERTIBLE problem hey i got a 2004 M3 convertible, and last night i put my top up. Ok after a couple of hours i was going out and decided to drop it down butttttttt when i pushed the button the light came up(red) that usualy is up till the mechanism is doing its thing but the top was not moving anywhere. I stop and start the car again to make sure that it charged the pump or whatever it is to make sure got power but still nothing moved. Now i'm going to disconnect the (+) wire from my battery maybe it will reset something or whatever i know sometimes this works. But hey if anyone got same problem and figure out what was it i would more than happy to hear from u. thanks ps. i did try to reset things it didn't work. next step check the fuses... Update: Fuses were fine, so next step is the dealer ![]() Last edited by MYTOYM3 : 03-12-2009 at 01:24 PM. |

| Quick check: 1.make sure boot is shut properly, open and close to make sure 2.compartment in boot for roof is also latched properly. 3.if u got smg just try it in nuetral and in gear. 4. Even try with drivers door shut, things like parking distance control don't work with door open. It's a pain, had door open to check gutter when parking so wouldn't scratch rims and expectin beep from sensor, nudged car behind me. Try anything that comes to mind even windows. Worst case get out off car and try taking roof off with key by holding it in unlock position, should open windows and take roof off, same for put in up. Once I got a fault code and it didn't let me put windows down with buttons but could with key in door. Stupid electronics. Also I would disconnect battery that how u get most fault codes and u can only clear then with computer such as dealers. If all this fails yeah u might have to go to dealer. |
