For a research project I'm trying to find information about the smg transmission. My guess is that its pretty secretive, I have not found much. If anyone knows where I might find info about it, like how it works I would be very appreciative !! thanks

If you Google SMG transmission, you should come up with some good information:

Somewhere on the net I found a pretty detailed manual on SMG but I can't seem to locate it again.

The SMG gearbox is a Sequential Manual Gearbox. In other words it is a manual transmission whereby the shifting is controlled by paddles or the central sick. The shifting and the clutch is actuated by an electronic TCU and high pressure hydraulics.
