| ok from what ive read bmw used the wrong diff fluid at one point and have since recommended switching to the fluid I listed above. If your diff is damaged internally then no a fluid change wont help. But Ive heard of several people with the same noise problem that switched fluid and after a few hundred miles or so the noise was either greatly reduced or gone completely. I mean id rather try the fluid change and see what happens before I go replacing a diff. Who knows you my already have the correct fluid in your diff but IMO you have nothing to lose. Hope that helps. |
