Brand New M3 - Engine Lights On - help

hey guys my new 06 m3 has only done 900kilometers and im still wearing the engine in and shit but today i noticed the engine light is lite... i read in the manual it saids : "exhaust emission values have deteriorated. Have the system checked." what can i do to fix it at this time cos the local dealer does not open for weekends..

is this a major issue ???

and second thing is should i wait till it reaches another 1000km and take it back to the dealer for the first check for free that they offer.. ??

im really worry about my car

any advice would be good

Sounds like you may have fueled the vehicle with the key in the ignition, engine still on, or perhaps a simple little gas cap fault.

As long as the car is running the same as usual there isn't anything to be concerned about. Now if the car is running different since the light turned on then I would bring it immediately to your dealer.

i do remmber fuelling up b4 this happen

how do i fix this ??

the gas cap seems to only click once when i screw it on ..

how and what i do ??

Only the dealer or someone with a reset tool can get rid of that light for you.
I wouldn't worry about it and just have it taken care of when you bring it in for its run-in service if it's still illuminated.

ok

just got back from the dealer.
it was something to do with a computer glitch due to bad batch of fuel...

just been driving my girlfriend to school and the light came back on again... really anoyed with this but they said its nothing to worry about and it was just a glitch...

im taken it back to them again when the first running in service is due at 2000km

kinder suchs how its doing it again ...

Bad batch of fuel and NOT throwng your O2 sensors out? Ok, well at least it is documented with the dealer.
