Jet Hot Headers

I just ordered the Borla Exhaust and K&N intake. I wanted to purchase the Jet Hot headers, but I do not have any info on them. Does anyone have experience with these, or any facts such as hp or torque gaines.

Unless I'm confusing it with something else, I always thought Jet Hot was a ceramic coating used to reduce engine bay temperatures?

I have not personally seen or talked to anyone runing those headers but I can't imagine them to be bad if Bimmerworld sells them. I can tell you the more popular headers seem to be the supersprint or Evosport ones. Give Bimmerworld a call and ask them, they are very helpful.

I've heard very good things about them, I forget where, I'll try and find you a link.

I would really appreciate it. They are considerably cheaper than others. Not to go the cheap route, but spending 2k on headers is out of the question. So far the intake is installed, and I am not sure if I am just feeling some pull up top, or it is my imagination. But it sounds great after 5k.

I've never seen these in person but I have seen posts on other forums about them with fitment/rust issues

Heres a quick link I found

http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showp...8&postcount=32

You might also want to do a search on the other headers you mentioned and rust issues.

Never seen them in person either. But Sean gave you a good start. The flange I hear is to thick and doesn't line up right with the bolts. Search around the other forums.
Also, check with your dealer or independent shop and see if they can order the CSL headers for ya!

I'll be honest. I just did a Borla Cat back (oval tips), and an intake. The car runs great. Once I get used to this power, I will save up the the SS headers. Next is a new set of tires, and rims. I would like to keep the 18's, but does anyone know how wide you can go without rubbing? 275/40's?

As far as actual gains, you will gain only a couple hp with Jet Hot. The gains come in the way of keeping combustion heat contained within the tube and out of your engine bay. Also, theoretically, the coating will help with extraction and combustion of hydrocarbons due to it's thermal containment. It is good to invest in as long as the headers are made from good material. Bad header material will crack prematurely, especially with this coating.

I would suggest going with the Swaintech coating. It is more geared towards retaining heat as opposed to the jethot.

Swain Technology for engine piston coatings, race engine coatings, ceramic header coating, carbide metal coatings, Teflon coating spray, thermal spray plasma coating, metalizing closures, spray welding
