Anyhow, anyhow lol, I would go with a 6 speed manual. I like a manual because you always have complete control, and there is less to go wrong. With any automatic, you have valvebodies, and all kinds of electronics to go bad. I am not sure how much power a SMG can hold, or for how long either. Temps are very critical to autos, whereas manuals are just a little stouter in most cases. I think ANY "pure" drivers car should come with a stick standard. I dont think autos have room in a drivers car, and that is just my opinion.

SMG and the 6 speed use exactly the same Getrag gearbox so it should be just as stout as the 6 speed. Granted, there's more stuff needed to do automate the clutch but I haven't had any trouble with mine

Its not about who makes it, it is about what is inside it. Lots of electronics, and valves. Those parts fail with heat. Manuals arent so sensitive to heat, and can take more abuse.

Correct. SMG is prone to more failures than 6 speed even given the same transmission. However you can't deny the speed of its shift, they are way faster than anything a human can do.

No doubt, but the weight, and extra drivetrain powerloss that comes with most automatics does offset that. It would be fun to drive one though, I bet the shifts are insane.

The system only adds like 15 or 20 pounds and there is no power loss.

I love my SMG too. The Tog Gear guys piss me off because they drive a car for a couple of hours and either love it or bag the shit out of it. I could have bought either a 6 spd or the SMG. I chose the SMG for something different and it is great. I love it now. It took some getting used to, but it is great.

It makes it harder to drift (which is what I love) but you still can.
