E46 M3 Crash Pics

Seeing the other M3 thread thought I would post these here - this accident happened back in October 2001 in Johannesburg, South Africa - the driver was killed while his 2 passengers got out with injuries. Story has it they hit a light pole at over 200kph.....

Also - bear in mind that this was a RHD car.

i agree thats the ugliest one ive seen gotta say a prayer.......but iz it me or have there been alot of E 46 M3s being smashed around...people dont know how to appreciate that fine machine...damn....

are you sure it was RHD? the driver of this car posted on bimmer.org, using the name MKBoy. i don't think this was a euro car...

The pictures that you posted were of "MkBoy"'s M3. He was a regular visitor to the E46 M3 bimmer.org board. I don't know the specifics of the accident, but it involved 100mph+ speeds. I didn't know him, but I heard he was a really good person, so please be tactful in your commentary.

A few blokes on the CarToday BB knew him in person and to the questioner regarding RHD - yes I am sure.

I actually know the driver of that car. His name was Simon Driscoll & he was one of the 1st to take delivery of the new M3 in JHB. He took me for a spin in his car while I was waiting for mine to make the wait a bit more bearable. He was actually a very nice guy. His girlfriend Dee was aslso badly injured & was in intensive care for a month. They were actually planning on getting engaged this year.
He did tend to drive quick at times but I see him as an enthusiast like myself & we all give it some stick at times. His brother Patrick says that the accident was as a result of a C class Merc sideswiping him."

That driver did indeed pass away, I remember this pics a few months ago.......

scary to see stuff like that and to think it could have happened through no fault of his own. Just today as I was driving home I came upon some clear road so I stepped on it a little and out of no where a Land Rover Discovery shot out of a side street right in front of me. I had to quickly swerve into the oncoming lane to avoid a collision and thank God there were no oncoming cars.
It's scary how quickly these things can happen.

the car looks like it held up pretty well from the firewall back, it almost looks like he hit a wall, but you can also see the bottom where the tranny came throught the bottom.
