Antagonized by an E46 M3!!!

So I was cruising down the avenue the other day at about 15mph, listening to a good tune, when a set of bright Xenons approached aggressively from behind at at least 35mph.
I immediately recognized the markings of a brand spanking new E46 M3. I made my way casually down the avenue, when this M3 kept pulling up behind me, then passing me with a bleep of gas as he passed. Damn! This guy was teezing me for sure... "Look at my NEW M3... 333 HP Bitch"
Well he didn't say it, but I understood it...

I must admit that hearing this gorgeous silver M3 with temporary plates wiz by me didn't make me want to drop 55K.
I would need to hear the Tri Flow rememedy for the ZINGY excuse for an exhaust note.

I was getting pissed at this point, cause this guy wouldn't stop.
He even pulled in front of me, and hit his brakes for no reason.
Message was received, and I knew exactly where this guy wanted to go.... To the HIGHWAY!!!

The butterflies kicked in as we were approaching the on ramp, and I turned off all unneccessary electronics to avoid power drainage.
We crept up the onramp, painfully blocked by an Explorer..

Silver M clicked on his turning signal, and dropped the hammer and headed for the far left lane. He was about 1 car length in front of me.
I accelerated at the right time, and pulled him right in.
In mere moments, I was at his door and passing.
Both the driver and co-pilot were pale.
This guy had just taken his buddy for a ride in his new M (which he was not braking in correctly) and he just got smoked by an older BMW.

We both had to drop anchor because of traffic, which saved him some abuse.
Traffic was nearly stopped at this point, so we got off at the next exit. I think he got the point...
Windows dropped, and both guys were asking questions.
"Is that an M?"
I said:"Yeah"
"Why don't you have a badge?"
"Ahh who needs that shit, it's extra weight!"
Both of these guys looked perplexed..
"Why are your brakes so noisy?"
"Racing Pads"
"What other work have you done to the car?"
Me:"Coilovers, EXHAUST and CHIP" Grin

Them:"It sounds awesome!"
At this point we started rolling forward in first.
"What year is that?"
"95!"

I couldn't resist anymore! I held the pedal down and melted tires, the rev limiter showed up, so I hit second with more wheel spin...
I looked back, and I had dogged them. I heard the them try, but it was too late.
They kept their distance from that point on...

HAHAHAHAAHHA They asked for it big time!

I felt so much better after that run... hehe

A true and perfect definition of a "clowning." Just imagine how much guff his friends gave the driver once they heard the passenger's story. Very funny.

Wow I'm surprised you were able to keep up with him. My friend in Atlanta has a 98 M3 w/ a Dinan Supercharger w/ MANY other mods and I was able to pull away from him pretty easily. He dynoed at 280 RWHP. We tried it at quite a few different speeds and on each shift I would move ahead almost a car length. You could really see the gearing of the E46 M3 come into play. It wasn't very close. Good job on the E46.. BTW It was about 50 degrees outside and he wasn't heatsoaked.. What do you dyno @??

What are the many other mods that your friend has? It should dyno at ~280+ with just the blower.

Well, my car is a stage 2.
I have:
6lbs of boost.
HFM
24lb injectors
Supersprint headers
ERT lightweight underdrive pulley
extended intake tube for K&N filter
Gutted Catalytic Converter
ES Tuning Exhaust.
3.23:1 gearing
The car has no spare tire, nor the back seats for weight savings.

On a heat soaked 86 degree day with humidity of about 75% with cats still in, the car put down 293RWHP
Now I've put Redline in both the tranny and new diff, and I've removed the restrictive cats, so I would say the car makes 305+ on a cold day NO PROBLEM...

I will re-dyno it as soon as I do water injection or cams.

Wish that I could name them off the top of my head but I can't think of them right now. You are correct though.. He was running @ 6.5 and I know for a fact he had a different intake manifold, underdrive pulley, larger injectors, exhaust... I just don't know that much about superchargers and what mods are necessary/standard.

To me, he had MANY mods, but I think he was pretty stock as far as supercharged M3's go(Obviously w/ the dyno). What I do know for a fact is that he dynoed at 280 rwhp. I believe that was before he added the intake manifold and it wasn't a very close race. However, IMO the intake manifold would only be good for a few hp. I was expecting him to pull away from me. He also has H&R Coilovers, Front and Rear Strut bars, UUC Short shifter.. Sweet E36.. wish I knew more about superchargers..
