Anyone with an E46 M3, wanna try this chip?

My guess is its not an actual "chip." I know that in Europe all OBDII systems have to be "chipped" by reprogramming the ECU. So, if you want to ship your car to Europe, you can. I am sure Dinan might come out with some form of upgrade. The problem is the E46 M3 is running on very good (performance wise) software. This is why I dont think Dinan will come out with a reprogram option to buyers who want a warrantee. Just my assumption.

Dinan already made a chip for the E46 M3s. Im not sure if it boosts up da hp a lil.

Well by chip, i meant ECU upgrade. Since everyone knows it as a chip, its easier to get your attention. Actually on the new OBDIII thats the m3's have, you can also write new engine programs through a computer with a just a cd with the programs on it. Its simple, if you have the diagnostic and editing tools to do so. And since like only bmw has them, its hard to come by (and tuned companies in germany). Well someone get them to ship the software over. Peace

Okay... what the hell is the point then? Its not on there website. I am sure Dinan has software for the E46 M3, just haven’t seen if offered to the general public. I was surprised to find out that they can reprogram my EURO M3, pretty cool shit.

Performance Engine Software-E46 M3

The software provides improved performance and driveability, as well as removing the top speed governor. Dinan's Software Engineers have re-programmed the "EML" or drive-by-wire system in order to provide the driving enthusiast with moderately quicker throttle response in the "Normal" mode, as well as more linear throttle response in the "Sport" mode for improved driveability at the car's handling limit. With the top speed governor removed, the car is now capable of achieving 167 mph in fifth gear; the tall sixth gear ratio provides a "theoretical top speed" of 201 mph.

The software also raises the factory rev-limit by 150 rpm (8150 rpm) in order to provide additional road speed in each gear, as well as improved performance driveability.

Price: $399.00

NOT A BAD PRICE, but german one is better probably.
