e46 M3 or IS300

I would like to have a 2002 E46 M3. The problem is that the one i want cost 55k. I don't want to get a used car. So i am considering a IS300. Has anyone had any testdriving experience with these two cars. The Is300 must be 5spd so does the M3

I remember i was going to get an IS then i thought well for an extra 10g's i can get a car wit 333 hp and the interior of the IS looks a little cheap IMO.

well in all honesty they are both good cars
but they are 2 different class of cars. One is a toyota and the other a BMW. I mean you can't really compare them..

If price is an issue get a 330ci or an e36 M and go to AA for some mods.

Whatever... the comparison is incorrect because the IS300 competes with the 330i--the M3 is in a totally different league. That's why there is a price difference. Being Japanese and German ain't gots nuthin to do with it.

No contest, if you can afford it, get the M3; otherwise decide between the IS300 or the 330i.

if you can't afford the m3 you should go still stay in the bmw family and get a 330 or a 328, you will not regret it.

I never said you said that they were equal. He implied that by comparing them. I said his comparison was wrong, but your reasoning is also incorrect. It's not a Japanese/German issue as you said. It's a performance issue. The M3 totally outperforms the IS300 and they shouldn't even be compared. Totally different cars. That's why I said he should have compared the IS300 to the 330i instead--which is a Japanese/German car issue.

Btw, for the record, I'd get the 330i over the IS300. The M3, of course, is a no brainer.

I would get a 328Ci or DEFINITELY a 330Ci over an IS 300, drive the two.. trust me. i've driven both, and the IS just sucks.... don't get the IS, you will regret it.. promise.

if it was up to me, i rather get a used BMW then a new lexus anyday, i'ev driven both, and as always nothing compares to a BMW. get a used 330i or something similar.

1 of my friends has a e36 95 m3 and another one has a 2001 IS300...
id take the e36 over the is300...and yur questioning taking a is300 over a E46??? i mean is300s are beautiful nice cars...not as quick as a m3....cant handle as good...i like both cars...id save up a little more and get a e46 m3 tho....not just saying that cause i love bimmers and this is a bimmer site.....but youll be more satisfied with some M power.....
