| 2002 E46 M3 >>?? Interior Hi All... I'm in the process of purchasing the new 2002 M3, i was just wondering, is it possible to have different color leather like in euro? ![]() i asked the dealer, but i was told no, not from the factory? Does anyone know if you can purchase the euro interior and just replace it, are there any difference, mounting and whatnot? And Also, I'm getting the SMG II also, how does it compared to regular stick? How is it in stop and go traffic, I live in NYC, pain in da butt. One more, How do you do burnouts using the SMG?? thx, newbie to dtmpower.net

| First of all, welcome to DTM! Yes, you can pick the exterior and interior colors, but not from the dealer's lot. You will have to order a car before it is built, but that would entail you to be on a waitlist. Congrats and enjoy your new E46 M3. ![]()

| Not sure about this but, isnt that what the BMW individual program is? You can hand pick your colors even if it isnt on the brochure? You would have to special order it and waite 4-5 months depending on the line. The SMG is no problem in S&G traffic, you could leave it in auto mode and it will basically be an auto. if you need to get down to one to "jump" out flick the left and you are in one, then tap the control stick again to go back to auto mode. Burn outs I believe are limited to 30times in mode 6. hold the shifter back, floor it, then let go of the stick. Or something like that. r |

| I'm sure you can get the imola read interior. In that picture, the door sills don't look like the BMW individual ones. Also, we don't get the S6 start button feature (perfect race start button).

| Quick things... Launch Control is available in the US (but not documented in the manual) launces happen at 1800rpm rather than the euro 3500rpm, no monitor as far as we know. LSB and Kiwi are available but you need the code (easy enough) depends on how much your dealer wants to work for you but easily available. Custom colors for exterior are $2k. SMG is great, lovin' it more everyday. ![]() cheers, -loki |

| sorry folks. US does not get the launch control, at least not yet. it was apparently a last minute decision....there's a bmw bulletin on it. oh well, we can't be a shumacher(ralf, of course) or a montoya. paul |
