If your an idiot you will wrap a car around a pole. The difference between any driver or any person in everyday life situations is knowing limits, the cars limits and their own limits. Knowing how to react to a situation before it happens. If the person is crazy and nuts and is always pushing the envelope and doesnt know when to stop. Then unfortunately they will be in the ones in someones front yard upside down or wrapped around a pole. After all that junk it comes down to hand eye coordination.

I have an E46 M3, and I bought it because I liked the technology that went into the car. I thought the engine would be great, the balance and handling perform well (for stock), and its a car w/ back seats and a trunk. And frankly when I first saw the E46 M3, I didnt really like the looks. Its definately grown on me now, and I really like it. Sure other cars have more hp, more lux, can be modded more/easier, but for stock, an M3 is a pretty good package. Id say the best when it came out in 01.

I didnt get the M b/c it was an M, but what was available at the time I didnt like. A 911 had no trunk or back seats for adults, A lotus has even less room, A 355 was a bit out of my price range and not practical as a daily driver, I wouldnt driver a boxster, WRX was just coming out, no 350Z, and the Evo was the old version.

Its 04. Two service actions on the engine, the body rolls a bit more now, and there are several cars that have similar (some more, some less) capabilities to an E46.

I dont think an E46 is a good M for someone to have as their first M due to the service actions, and the maintance that has gone along with it. Its expensive to maintain, even more expensive to modify, and unless your a guy or into cars, it looks like a 330ci. Sure its different when you park it next to a 330, but you know what to look for.....

If your looking for wow factor, get a used Lotus. If your looking for performance, you can get a well maintained E36 and mod it/clean it up (or an Evo/STI). If your looking for something to ride in, a 330 is nice, and pocket the extra cash and go to Aruba.

If your looking for all those combined, get the E46 M3, and get the extended warranty.

And be careful.

Yeah but asny car could be a weapon if you use it wrong. I mean he had a 330ci which is pretty fast allready.
