E46 M3 rear lip for E36? Where?

Anyone know the best place to buy a rear E46 M3-style trunk lip for an E36? Are there different mfg's or does everyone sell the same piece? Are they all fiberglass or can I find a plastic or urethane one?

Any dealer, but I typically order from Pacific BMW due to their favorable mail order pricing.

While I understand the E46 M3 spoiler does work, I thought the M5 spoiler worked better? Anyone know?

Hmmm, so are most E36 guys just using the factory BMW E46 or E39 part? I thought the E46 style lip was made by an aftermarket company for the E36. I would prefer to use a perfect quality BMW part if it fits.

To my knowledge, even aftermarket companies are getting them wholesale from BMW dealers. I know of at least one 'tuner' shop that is doing this, since they bought 25 M5 spoilers from my local BMW dealer.

Since you have the opportunity to go with OE parts, and knowing your discriminating tastes, I would be surprised you'd even consider aftermarket.

The gist on fitment I get is this: either will work, but on sedans (such as mine) the slightly longer E39 M5 spoiler works better. Not sure which (E46 M3 or E39 M5) works best on M3 coupes, however, as people have used both.

I asked for both parts at the local dealer, but they did not stock either (special order only) so I had no way of knowing which fits best.

you need the on for the m5. i bought the one from the e46 m3 and it is about a half inch short on each side of the trunk on my coupe.the m5 spoiler fits perfectly

yup,the M5(E39)lip fits perfectly on an E36 like it was meant to be.
