E46 323 Model

I am thinking about purchasing a used E46 323CI. I have heard good and bad reviews of this model and various problems people have encountered. Do the 323's have more problems than say the next year’s 325's? I am looking at the 323 because of the lower prices even with relatively low miles. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

I just bought an E46 323ci, for the same reason.

There are not to many difference of course the Engine in the 323 has is the M52 where as the 325 has the M54.

The steering wheels in the 325, has a dual stage airbag, I also prefer the shape of the wheel in the 325's.

Check the door seals, my passenger seal have warned through.

The 325 has a bit more power, about 12% more I think.

When I get home, I will post up a link of the difference between the two.

Page is working again. Thanks for the info. I have found a 328CI also and I am going to look at that one after reading the FAQ.
