| I don't know much about this however I doubt there will be much engine blowing from this kit compared to others that may come on the market.
From what I understand, the engine in the E46 M3 is basically an M52 motor with 6 throttle bodies. Obviously there are some other differences, such as software, but the block and head are the same or similar. On a 1999 or 2000 M3 they made 420ish dynojet RWHP with their stage 3 SC kit, RMS header, stock cat, RMS exhaust, and an RMS/? head gasget. I believe the car may have had an aftermarket radiator as well. There were no internal modifications except the head gasget. This is not a copper space head gasket to reduce compression. This is a head gasket that replaced the stock one because it can handle much higher pressure.
I believe the numbers to be true for the E46 M3 as well as the viability. I understand the the motor is high compression but they have SC's for Euro M52 motors and that motor is just about the same thing as the E46 M3.
Anyway, the moral of the story is that an E36 M3 is lighter, cheaper and can have more HP. hehehe |
