G35 coupe.....330ci beater?????

i was looking forward to getting a 330ci for about 2 years. i have been counting down the days until my birthday and now when its finaly here i got this big old problem just waiting for me. the g35 coupe just happened to come out right now to totaly mess up all my plans. my friend just got his delivered last week and its nice, havnt gotten to really hit it yet cuz it has to be under 4000 rpm for the first 400 miles. so im have no idea what to do and i want a car. is the g35 really a bmw beater,

and does anybody know if this facelift is acually going down and if its going to happen by may because it look worth waiting for. and are there going to be any differences on the inside

I was reading the specs between the G35 and the 330ci. Lets compare:
Infinity G35 Sport coupe Bmw 330ci

Price: 29-33k 35-40k

Engine: 3.5 V6 280hp/270tq 3.0 I-6 225hp/215tq

Tranny: 6spd 5spd

Weight: 3460 lbs 3360 lbs

0-60 (according to Automobile Magazine):

6 seconds 5.9 seconds

1/4 mile: 14.6 seconds @ 98 mph 14.6 seconds @ 98mph

70-0 Braking: 171 ft 167ft

top speed: 142 mph 128 mph

Just by looking at the numbers I'd perfere the BMW over the Infinity. I still think the infinity is a gorgeous car, but with 55 extra hp and 66 extra tq, you'd think that it would rocket the car past the bmw due the fact that its only 100lbs heavier. Its a contender but any race is really going to be decided by driver error.

My Pick: BMW 330 ci

Between the two, I would choose a 330Ci. If they decide to go with the facelift before May, you can always buy a used 2001 or 2002 with little mileage. Ever thought about getting the E36 M3? It's a great car. Take one for a test drive, and you will fall in love with it

G35...... 330ci will looks like ass next year. BTW, why do you want to buy a used car when you have to buy a new one with all the Warantty?

If you are buying a used car JUST because of the style... then maybe you should getit at all.

I would pick the 330ci. IMO the G35 coupe along with the 350z are currently just hype. I think both of them are extremely bland looking, inside and out. Dont get me wrong i admire the simple look but i just think it is too simple.

If the price was the same then i would say 330. But we looked at both cars and the bmw is about 6500 more than the g35. With that im mind and the performance near even id take the g35.

I think I would go for 330. I like the interior of 330 much more. If you put clears on it, it will look even better, and afterall it's a bimmer

I agree with branko - with the 330ci, you get 215hp while the G35 has 280. and the times - THE SAME!!! although i am a huge fan of the G35, if you want a roadster esck car, go for the G35. bUt my vote it totally with the 330ci . (proves just what kind of punch that I6 engine has!!!)

anyone got pics of this facelift. done some searches, haven't found any yet.

and NRM 500 - you said waiting till your b-day? how old are you? how much can you spend and stuff?

The official facelift hasn't been revealed yet, but hopefully it will be an improvement rather than a step backward. Anyway, honestly, I would choose the 330. The G35 is definitely a nice car, but I think the bimmer will be more fun to own, drive, and will probably age better as far as value and style are concerned. Numbers aren't everything, and the way a BMW drives is so well balanced and carefully designed, it's hard to beat it.

if i was in the market for a car, and was considering the g35 coupe and 330ci, i think i'd seriously go for the g35. g35 is a siiik ass car.

If you're worried about performance, look at the 350Z. Same car, but a few extra horses and such. Less extras, but more options with "track" version.

In the end, I'd still go with the 330Ci though, I think...

the G is about 40 if u want leather and a 6 speed sp the the prices are about the same, my friends was a little over 4200 cuz he has the navi,

and i have about 40-45 to spend, i was thinking about a 01 m3 but my insurence would be really high, its not totally out though im still thinking, that a 911 or a zo6

sorry, my vote is for g35.

that thing is just gorgeous, fast, and fun.
