| my stock 95 M3 handles awesome! my friend has a 99 328i, E46, the rear end seems to handle oversteer better tho, maybe its the fact that he has less power to the wheels than i do, but his car has a very hard time oversteering. the new rear end on new BMWs is more advanced than the E36.

| I know that I am biased, but stock the e36, modded the e36, One reason i also say this is because my neighbor has a e46 m3, and he says his old e36 m3 handled better because it was lighter. But in the track that the E46 M3 would take it only because of the huge Hp difference.

| The e46 and e36 suspensions designs are almost identical, front and rear. One is not more advanced than the other. In fact, some of the parts are interchangeable/identical. Obviously, they are set-up and tuned differently, from the factory. The e46 is designed more for comfort and isolation from road irregularities. It also has more understeer dialed-in, stock. Which is the better-handling chassis, modded? Well, lets look at the racing results. The PTG e36 M3's and Turner e36 328's DOMINATED their respective racing classes. Their e46 race cars have not continued those winning ways, at all. In fact they have done relatively poorly by comparison. BMW/PTG had to shoe-horn an illegal V8 into their M3 to make it competitive and was essentially disqualified as a result. Turner's team just recently won in one of his e46 cars, for the first time this season. The e36 has certainly faired better on race tracks. |

| If we have to choose from those 2 the 325 will do better. Not because of handling but because the 323 is grossly underpowered. In terms of handling it would be a push, the 325 will gain an edge due to a lighter car vs the E46. |
