Clunking from rear of 330Ci

Hello Everyone. I have a 2001 330Ci. I have been noticing a clunking from the rear of the car. Only really happens in gears one through three when decelarating or cruing at low speeds and coasting. Under load or driving on the highway, the problem seems to go away. I also feel like a shuddering or wobbling feeling from the rear when this happens. It's almost like a whining noise too. Sounds like the rear brakes almost, but I am sure thats not the problem. Any ideas on what it could be?? Hope its not the drivetrain. Any known problems with BMW's drive train on the E46??

You probably broke ur suspension like me. I went over a speed bump going really fast one time. It didn't seem to have messed it up then it started clunking around in back. My dad said he wouldn't get me a new car, so we just had it fixed.

I second that. Also check the mounts on your sway bar.

Sounds like time to take a trip to the dealer...warranty....
