Is it possible to install E46 ellipsoid projector into E36 headlight housing?

I was wondering is it possible to install E46 ellipsoid projector into E36 headlight housing? Anyone know if the size of round ellipsoid projectors on E46 headlights are the same as E36 round ellipsoid? Anyone ever done this modification? I am not talking about the whole headlights housing swap, but only the 4 round ellipsoid inside the housings. Any comment will be appreciated...thanks

It probably is possible, you would just have to take your time with them and have all the correct tools and alot of patience. I know there is someone on the board that has a maxima with BMW headlights and Audi projectors in the lowbeam that they custom fit. If the parts are going to run you over $400, then you should just get the ellipsoids.
