jumpy drive!!need help

I just bought a 328ci,1999 about a month ago and I've experience some problems.
My major concern is when I drive (and the engine is warmed up) it sometimes drives jumpy like it doesn't have enough power and wants to turn itself off.I'm pretty sure I accelerate hard enough and don't think its my driving abilities .
This problem happens mainly in first and second gear but ones I get it a bit faster and change to third gear the problem disappears.
So far this hasn't happened often but lately or better yesterday it happened frequently.
Another problem I found is sometimes when I drive on fifth gear and change back to a lower gear the gear knob won't go back to its central neutral location but rather lends towards the right (fifth gear) when on neutral.

Please help.I still have 2months warranty left on the car from the dealer and want to fix the problem asap before going on my extended warranty.

I really cannot suggest much without more detailed description of the symptoms, but if you are suffering from a 'miss' (not firing on all cylinders) you will notice it the most as you take off from a standing start and in first gear. It won't be as obvious in the higher gears.
