I DID SOME RESEARCH AND I CAME UP WITH A BRAND CALLED FUJITA, I KNOW A FEW PEOPLE WITH E90'S THAT HAVE PUCHASED THIS BRAND BEFORE AND IT'S DONE IT'S JOB WELL. SO I DECIDED THAT I SHALL PURCHASE THIS PERTICULAR BRAND, BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT I WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS THE BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SHORT RAM INTAKE AND A COLD AIR INTAKE????? WHICH IS BETTER TO INSTALL AND GET MORE HP???? |
Short ram intake - An intake placed with a small in length tubing (Usually only long enough to hold the MAF/AFM unit with a pod on the end) allowing for little turbulence for the air that enters because the air isn't restricted around bends...
Cold Air Intake - An intake that is usually long in length to an area usually behind or lower than the headlight unit to suck in colder air accompanied by a heat shield... In the end cold air holds more oxygen which allows for better combustion...
Both have their pro's, but to avoid having tubing throughout your engine area, just upgrade to a more flowing flat panel filter and de-baffle your airbox if you can, much cheaper and works about the same...
HP increase, on a 2.5L, somewhere between 2-5rwhp on stock for all... Combo it with an exhaust system for it to work better for more hp...
