| Ignition Coil I just got my 2001 325 ci back from the dealership getting serviced. They told me I will need a new ignition coil within the year. If i have to replace this part anyway i might as well upgrade. Is there any way to increase performance with a specific ignition coil? anyone have any suggestions of ones to buy ? any idea what im looking for to buy one of these? Thanks. |

| Coils normally don't fail unless they were defective in the first place. Quite a few e46 coils got replaced on warrantee. Around 2003 model year, I think. I have never heard of someone predicting that a coil would fail within a year. That sounds suspect. I would not expect to see any increase in performance from different coils on a normally aspirated car running within the original RPM redline. |
