Push Start Button!!

Hi

Ive seen quite a few cars with the start button that starts up your engines, alot of the newer cars have the feature.

I been told it is easy enough to do on any car and in particular for an e46? Ideally I would like to put in where the cigarette lighter is and move that to the rear ashtray or centre console!!

I have bought a start button taken from a 2005 e87 (1 series) model with its original wiring, which i think can be fitted in an e46 as Z8 and Honda S200 starter buttons have been commonly used for this mod on E46's?

Anyone done this mod? Any tips/DIYs? how much did it cost? where did u get the bits from?

There is a certain harness you need and wiring to your steering column for your ignition and starter. There are two other wires for + and ground.

it'd be pretty easy, but you'd have to wire it and still put your key in the cylinder turn to the "on" position and then hit the start button so why go through more hassle?
