need advice...

Hey guys, i need some advice on something. The dealership I work at just recently took a 2002 325i in on trade and it seems to be a good running car but when you get on the gas it seems as though it has no power. By doing a thorough inspection we found a vacuum line that was lose so we corrected the problem and it seems to still drive as it has no power. We were thinking about doing a change of spark plugs and a fuel filter and maybe that would help. Just wondering if anyone has encountered that same problem on another E46 3 series BTW the "MIL" (Check Engine) light is not on and it has no DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) Thanks for your help hope to hear from you all soon.

Start with the usual suspects -
Can you feel the individual burst of exhaust at the tailpipe when it idles? If not, suspect exhaust damage or obstruction.
No critter nests in the air intake?
Air tubes from the mass airflow sensor up to the throttle valve intact? (look at the undersides)
Throttle position sensor working?
VANOS solenoid working?
These last three problems should set a code, but check them anyway.
