I'm excited to be in the market for another BMW after loosing the M3. Back in December when I was back here in Georgia for christmas break, I was walking out of my parents church and saw a 3 series Hartge sitting outside. I have not seen too many Hartge's so I was a bit surprised, told my dad about Hartge since he had not heard of them, and then went home. Well, I'm back in Georgia again for the end of the summer, and in church today my dad pointed out that one of the women in the choir owned it (Figures

...). We went up and talked to her afterwords, and although she did not know much about it at all, she said that it was a 2001 and that it had the Hartge engine, suspension (It's been lowered quite a bit) and some other stuff. It has nice rims on it, I think she said they were Hartge too. Make a long story short, she said she wants to sell it and that she purchased it last year for around $13k and it has a bit more then 50k miles on it. I'm thinking I can get her down to maybe $10K or $11K.
I'll definantly be talking with her more about the car and will be taking a better look at it, but I was wondering if any of you could give me some info on the car and possibly what it could have in it. I know it's a 3 series from looking at it, but I'm not sure if it's a 325 or 330. It has no badges on it except for Hartge on the left side of the back. I'm guessing that this car came from the Hartge factory and that this stuff was not put on by someone and then badged. If I'm right, did Hartge actually put out certain models in 2001 and it could be one of a few different Hartge models, or is every Hartge car a custom and when you order it you choose what is put in the car and they put the Hartge badge on it? What I'm worried about is that it only has Hartge exhaust or an ECU chip and is badged as a Hartge. Either way, I think at around $11k I would be getting a good deal, right?
Any thoughts or advise of things to look for appreciated. If I get the VIN is there some way to figure out what Hartge did to the car?
