323 and 325

when i look into E46 323 adds it says that it has 2.5L engine and 325 also has 2.5L engines in them so whats the diference?

323 was made in 2000 with 170hp and the 325 in 01 and on with 184hp. dont know why bmw went with 323 when it had a 2.5L.

Go with the 325 it's better... engine wise.

From my knowledge, the 323 is the exact same as the 325 but has a detuned 2.5L engine which is why the 325 produces more power...

The 325 produces more power for the same reason I just posted in another thread. The exhaust goes from a 2 to 1 at the cats just like a 318 exhaust. where as the 325 is 2 pipes all the way to the muffler like the 328/M3. So switch out the mid pipe and you have the same HP as a 325.

the 325 has more hp where the 323 has more tq. the 323 engine has single vanos where the 325 i believe has dual vanos.
