power steering....

i recently came across a little problem, my power steering went out, it has plenty of power steering fluid, so i was wondering if there is some one that might know the problem??? help!

i had same problem with mine 01 330i as well, ended up finding that the power steering pump internal shaft was broken, jack your car up and try to pry on pull/push onto the power steering pully toward outside and see if it moves back and forth, remember not to pry on it too hard cuz that pully is plastic and you dont want the opps!!! so yeah check the pully see if it moves back and forth you'll notice the differnce when u pull the pully toward outside the shaft will be visual. replace the pump if thats the problem

Lets see - BMW - 7 years old - You probably needed new power steering hoses by now anyway right? Easier to do them with the pump off.

dose anybody happen to know how to diagnose a pump see if it has pressure?
