| Doubtful that my opinions will be of much use to you, but I have one sport suspension and two standards, and I am not a fan of the BMW sport suspension. My idea of upgrading it would be to get it as close as possible to a standard suspension, which I will do as parts wear out.
As for brakes, for my daily commute car, I disregard performance and just look for pads that keep my wheels clean. Be careful though, I put a set of 'dustless' pads on a Volvo once that faded horribly when hot. Every car drives down a mountain sooner or later, and brakes that fade can kill you.
I put a set of PBR Delux organic pads and new Brembo rotors all the way around on my daughter's e36 last spring. PBR and Brembo are pretty much the McDonalds of brakes - low budget, but you know what you are getting. Wheels stay VERY clean and the price was very reasonable. They require a bit more pedal pressure than BMW pads, but after the first couple of days, you don't notice the difference any more. |
