| The revs shouldn't just jump unless it is giving throttle. At what speeds does this happen? I am guessing that it doesn't happen at highway speeds but happens at speeds around 40 mph? It might be downshifting. Mine does this between 40 and 45, it doesn't want to bog itself down, so it will stay out of top gear. The transmission is so smooth and the gear ratios are so close that you might not even recognize that it is shifting. That's my idea...

| Also... do you have it in sport mode when this happens? I don't know if this would effect a non-M. My 328i in sport mode would shift freely, just stay in each gear longer if you were say at 50% throttle. The M on the other hand will tend to keep itself in a lower gear when in sport mode. If you stab at the throttle and then let off real quick, it won't up-shift to the next gear until 5 or 6 seconds after you let off, anticipating that you might need throttle response soon after letting off. The 328i would shift as soon as you let off.
