| I am not sure, I have seen 2.3 liter strokers on 2.0 DSMS by using stock rods and special pistons... I am wondering if that is how this works.... Sleeving the block otherwise would help with structure, but that seems like quite a bit of bump, and would defintly kill revving potential lol.

| yeah, there were some posts a while back regarding taking the bottom half of a 330 engine, like camshaft, piston rods etc... and replacing those to essentially get a 3.0 liter engine out of a 2.5L... but i have almost no knowledge on the subject, so i was just curious... it still seems like an engine swap would be more cost-effective either way, right?

| if you have the m54 and the engine size you want is also m54 or s54 then yes you will probably have to bore out a certain size and change the crank... and probably the pistons and heads, ect... it would be more cost effective if you wanted a stock 3.0L to just get a new engine probably9dont know how much that would cost) but in the long run it would be better to do all the work on your current engine while its opened up... because then you can put all the upgrade parts you would buy for your 3.0 straight in your engine as u rebuild instead of buying new engine the pulling it apart and replacing lots of stuff.. IMO keep your current engine!
