Water pump failure on e46 with 147k ... ugh So this morning i woke up at 530 so i could get to a Toyota Vehicle Ordering Meeting... i get to the thruway.. just off of exit 17, the needle moves to Hot ... looks like the serp belt broke and the waterpump blew... so im on the thruway and i drove it back to work about 20 miles away. Car drove fine enough, for once im thankful for the cold weather... im sure it was stupid to drive the car back but whatever... Im just venting now... part 2 of the saga is unfolding as we speak, i will have more as it unfolds.... Im just PISSED.

well i got the water pump from BMW at what i think is the cost ... 71.50 bux plus tax of course... no tech wanted to work on the car, so i managed to stay after work with a tech and actually changed it out.... car runs pretty well.... Im lucky that none of the belts snapped or anything they were in AWESOME shape too. PS i did put new belts on ![]()

should be right around there .... Unlike my e36 i had to have the fan shroud removed before the waterpump could be attacked. ![]()

i guess they were afraid of the BMW. Seriously i had alot of the techs sayin, just take it to bmw they will get it done... i was like wtf are you serious... Well i should clarify, not all of the techs... i asked the techs that handle used cars, since they are better suited to handle all sorts of makes and models. But i did find a tech to help me out with the whole ordeal... so yea that made me happy.

yea these were techs at a toyota store.... but the problem has since been resolved and everything is running smoothly.
