Oil Changes

I have a 2003 325i I bought with 30k on. The first oil change was done at 14,900 miles and then when i bought it, i changed the oil at 29,800.
should i stay on the 15k oil change interval? is this bad for the motor in the long run? i use castrol syntec 5W-40.

I do a 3K-5K mile interval depending on how I drive. Personally, I'd rather shell out a few more bucks earlier, than to run into problems -if any, in the future. Hopefully the car takes care of me, as well as I take care of it. I guess you could keep topping off the oil and changing the filter every few thousand miles before going in for the recommended 15K interval.

aggreed, i run 5k change as well. its not that the oil cant handle it, its the filter than cant.... but why do one not the other, oil really inst that expensive, buy your mobile 1 at walmart...
