ghetto halos

just got some ccfl halos from ebay and when i turn them on they strobe instead of stay on. they dont seem to be getting enough power since when i put my hazards on they get a whole lot brighter and dont strobe. i got all the electrical attachments right (i think), but otherwise has anyone else heard about this or know what to do about it?

Yeah you tapped into the wrong wire to power them. Your corner lights, when on don't run at 12V's. It is like 7volts or something. But when they get brighter (like a signal or hazard flash) then they get a full 12V's. You need to wire them to something else.

You need to grap constant power to a relay from the 12V terminal under your hood. And then get a switched 12V source from something else. I just ran a switch to under the front dash so I could have them on or off without the parking lights. If you try to trigger a relay from the same parking light wire you used already it won't work and the relay will flip open and closed as well too. (I tried that when I originally installed mine.) I think that Umnitza actually has install instructions and it gives you this wire from a harness under the hood to tap into and everything works out perfectly. But they might only provide it if you buy them from them. Good luck.

I have mine hooked up to my indicators and they work out fine. Im going to be putting a video up soon mocking the 3 series commercials and how "odd" they are. My halos are the ones from the adds on this site. For the price it was one of the best buys for my car casue they are so nice to see.

I have the Predator Chromium DDE's and installed them this past friday, i just tapped into the constant power, from the battery, and they are tapped into the accessory wire, and dome light, so if i lock the car with the remote, or unlock, they turn on when the dome light is on, and cut off when it does etc

im guessing that you mean tapping into the battery t-mc and just having a switch in between the wires from the bat to the halos. i guess that wouldnt be too hard, but i guess i would need a fuse in that line just in case of a power surge. lol, i have no clue what im doing, so bear with me. t-mc, i also have a 323i, so do you think you could get some pics for me? it would help a ton.

you have it connected to the dome light i think im gonna have to do some rewiring cause that sounds hot
