Your crazy if you think its that cheap depends on the situation. Like on the e-36 and e-46 where it breaks your looking about 5 times more than that! not a pretty site.

I don't see why they had to completely remove that piece of the subframe. You can grind, cut, and weld it while it is still on the car and save a boatload in labour charges.

there is no point to make that part of the car any weeker than it already is bmw requests that the actions bullet is doing should be taken to have the car back to factory specs for safety and ride comfort! plus you dont want to re weld to already fatiged metal just asking for trouble you should just do it right in the first place!

No, i am not crazy. It has happened to me and it has not happened to u. I know what it looks like and i know how to repair it. I watched most of the repairs which it took to fix it in person. It does not hav to been taken apart like that. I had it repaired and a reinforcment kit installed. Whoever pays $3500 to repair a subframe failure is someone who has done absolutely no research and drops their car off at a shop and says "do what is necessary". There are not too many different situations that can be worse than what i ran into. The pillars had torn out of my subframe and stabbed bak through. Everytime i pressed the gas they stabbed upward into the bottom of the car and everytime i let off the gas they tore out of the bottom of my car. Im tired of u itsjoey. This is not the only thread that u hav demonstrated that u are trying to impress ppl. I remember u tried to impress us with ur skills as u took the owner out for a "sesh" at a "race" on a track. Dont be amazed by whatever that shop those pics are from. Whoevers car that is, the owner is getting fucked. It couldnt get much worse than what happened to my subframe, yet i dropped it off friday morning and picked it up sunday afternoon.

Dont even get me started about getting things done the right way. Every single part installed on that car has been done perfectly. I have had zero problems with her and drive it hard every day. I have the reinforcement kit from turner motorsports, which i will stand behind. I am not bombing on any shops. If i worked at a shop i would try to get as much money as possible out of people. I have done a lot of work to my car thanks to the bentley manual. Yes i am seventeen. Im glad u know how to look at my profile. I highly doubt there are many 17y/o's who pay for insurance, gas, wheels, exhaust, tires, cai, jc chip, and every other little thing i hav done to my car, not to mention the labor it costed to instal parts. Every single repair its needed other than the subframe was done by myself. Try dismantling a passenger side air bag, door, and disconnecting all electronics within the door in your driveway when the window regulator fails on your car and then putting it all back together. Im sure u have installed/ repaired very little on your car. I know i am 17 and drive a bmw, but that comes at a price. When i hav a problem with it, i cant drive it until i fix it, because i dont hav the money for that. And my parents warned me of this, but i took it bcuz i knew it would be worth it. I have not held back one dollar when it came to an important repair. All bodywork and internal work has been done by some of the most skilled and well known bmw mechanics in the boston area.
