Sedan LED Tail "Wish List"

I havent been on DTM in a while but am an active poster on e46fanatics.com and we have a list going for all of us sedan owners who wish to see some LED Tail lights come out from some aftermarket company. We have had a couple vendors comment that if we got a certain number of serious buyers then they would find a way to make it happen. So, if you would like some LED Tail Lights on your sedan please head over to http://www.e46fanatics.com/forum/sho...9&page=1&pp=20 and post your info on the petition. The list is getting pretty big but we need a lot more. Pass it on to your friends or whoever else may be interested.

SEDAN OWNERS UNITE!!!

P.S. I WANT MY LEDS!!!

I just started the R&D phase, so it's going to be at least a month or two before I can produce a draft. But, of course I'll keep everyone updated and take lots of pictures.

I got my LEDs from Jameco yesterday and tonight I went to Radio Shack to pick up a breadboard and supplies. I'm testing the LEDs with different resistors now and also thinking about heat and mounting issues. After looking at 04 330s in the dealership parking lot, I've concluded that it's impossible to reproduce what BMW has done, but I'll give it my best shot to make something practical and decent looking. I'll have a full write-up at the end.

possible?

I was thinking that it might be possible to buy the coupe LED tail lights and do some fabricating by cutting out the LED portion with an XACTO knife and gluing it into the Sedan clear light housing........let me know what you think, in theory it would be able to plug right in and work just fine

I suppose that would work perfectly, but you'd need a dremel tool with a cutting disc. I think the plastics are a bit too thick for an Xacto knife.

I'm not sure what you're asking, but at least mine are not for sale.

sorry for the delayed response. i dont visit this site much (i pretty much live over on e46fanatics). anyhoo, on e46fanatics there are a bunch of vendors that have connections. several of them are in the works with companies in puting these into production so its just a matter of time. DEPO recently released some LEDs for sedan but they are for the facelift sedans with the "red, clear, red" set up and the turn signal in the middle isnt LED. im personally waiting for the "clear, red" FULL LED tail lights... hopefully it'll be soon...
