Why is this and can anyone asnwer this question

Ok see i have been looking for a bmw for the past month. The fact of it is i need a car bad. Like this car has to last me for the next 4 years at least. But I keep finding E36 328is for the price of 12000 and up 323is and some even 328is on autotrader and in some car forums. So is it worth it to buy an older 328is and pay the high sticker price or just wait and get a E46. also out of the E36 and the E46 which one has more tuning power.

i assume you meant 20000 thousand, and there really are not many E36 328's that should be worth 20,000. I'd say the two are very similar in respect to tuning. BTW i have a 1998 silver 4 door M3 for sale, 5 spd 80K
good luck

See this is it. I found two 323 for sale. They are both e46's and the they are around 12k to 15k. But at the came time i keep finding 328is that are E36's in that same price rang. Also the m3 how much are you asking

the 328is has a bigger engine than the 323, which makes them worth more

yea I could see that...But is it really worth paying 12k of a 97 328 with 116,000 miles on it. Or just but a newer E46

keep in mind generally coupes are more expensive the 4 doors i bet the e46 cars are all sedans because the 2drs are still getting a good buck but in the M cars i have found 4 doors to be more not just cause i am selling one. I'd take a final price of 14,500. There is no paintwork on the car outside the rear bumper that i had painted. I can send you pics if you are interested.
thanks

i'd buy an e46 323 but then again i'm biased
btw if you can find one with high miles (over 100k) you will probably only pay about 10k! just check it out first, make sure nothing major is wrong.

You can find E36 M3s around 15-17K. I'd definitely opt for that instead of an anemic E46 323i.

Thank you for seeing my point!!! Its that fact that Im just not going to pay that kind of money for a E36. Also for 17k i could get a used 330ci...Soory to say thats just a little over board

It's all relatively speaking. The 323 is pretty anemic compared to an M3.

And spending 17K on an E36 M3 is not a waste. It's still an M3 for crying out loud.

O! im not saing its a waste but what i am saying is that for that price there are alot of other BMW's out there for sale. But for 17k I would rather but a newer Bmw then a M3 and day.
