| something else, of course the cutoff of projectors instead of stray light shooting all over the place(H7 units). But another important thing... OSRAM bulbs. The stock osram bulbs from BMW xenons are rated at 3200 lumens at 42 Watt, while Philips are 3200 lumen at 35 Watt. This makes me think that the osrams only put out 2650 lumens at 35W making them just marginally stronger than vision plus halogens. Combine this with a much better beam pattern without hotspots and you get the subjective feeling of having less light on the road than with the halogens

| I have Xenon lights on my 2004 M3. I'm never going back to the halogens! The "flat" cutoff pattern does take some getting used to, but I'm now in total love with the HID lights. As for fitting an aftermarket Xenon kit... you may want to make sure it's legal to do so. I have read in various places that installing an aftermarket HID light system to a car with the standard halogen lights is illegal now. It may not apply to the cars that offer the HID lights as an option, but it never hurts to be on the safe side. Just my 2 cents...
