Fan in engine running out of control? Cracked coolant expansion tank!

I got a 2000 E46 328i and the engine fan is out of control. It's fully on as long as there is juice in the battery. Also, while I was stopped my coolant expansion tank cracked and leaks. I think this was a result of the fan not working right. Anyone got any ideas of why the fan is out of control and how much is it for a new coolant expansion tank. I looked online but all I can find are the caps for the coolant expansion tank. The fan is getting to me though, I am thinking it is a sensor that is registering the car is hot, making it run constantly. Any help would be appreciated.

Bring it back to your dealer. There is a service bulletin on this problem.

Hopefully you have brought it to the dealers attention while you were still under warranty.
