Hello all! Newbie here. I just purchased a 2001 M3 and am interested in getting BMW's Certified Pre Owned Extended warranty. I don't know if it's possible but if so can one of you give me an idea of where to start I've emailed BMW but haven't gotten a reply in over a week. Thanks for any help you can provide.

is $1200 a 6 years/100K warranty by BMW? folks: pls educate me on EXT warranty? do they just cover basic, drivetrain, emmision, corrosion? in simple cover what ever it's covered in the existing warranty? what about the 3year/36000 miles full service? thanks alot |

thanks. so service in on your own. i am currently looking at a 43414 miles 2001 325Ci. CARFAX shows that it still has a warranty till 07/09/2004 or 50000 miles. do you thik CARFAX is providing an accurate info? also about recalls and TSB shown in edmunds, will any BMW dealer be happy to check if this BMW is fixed? or they will charge for the service?

ya carfax is pretty good, but if you go to a dealer and they are nice, they will check the car out for you and be able to tell if it is in good condition. They may charge you for it, but if you have any little independent shops, try them, they are much nicer and usually dont charge.

i am a bmw tech and i highly recomend the cpo there is a 50 dollar deductable on service visits but it is well worth it. the cpo covers alot of stuff but not everything they don't cover wear items like suspension components or brakes. they don't cover interior trim pieces or radio and navagation. but if you just purchased an m3 then youu should definatly get the cpo for the 1200 bucks it's awesome hope i helped.

I just bought a 323ci about 1 month ago, well 2 weeks ago i let my brother take it out for a ride and he brought the car back to me shaking like a desiel. Well that day i took it to bmw and they said it might be a sensor or something small. A hour later they call me back and say that the car has had a over rev and i have BENT VALVES....... and bmw said that the warranty wont cover it and it was going to cost me 5 grand. Well after going though a long process they said they are going to fix it under warranty and a 5000 dollar job is only going to cost me 50 bux's. I CANT CANT CANT stress enough how good it is to get that Warranty, and a little money right now might save you a whole lot sometime down the road

you have no idea how lucky you are that you got that covered. i have seen many over rev's and we haven't covered one of them. you lucked out big time as for your brother i hoped you kicked his butt. Over reving theses motors is parctically the only thing that will harm them. you brother must have miss shifted and kissed all the valve's not a good idea to miss shift in a bmw but consider yourself one of the lucky few

thanks for the inputs i just got my 325Ci jet black it's a steptronic. so i wouldn't be worrying about over revving. the moment i drove out the car a E36 body raced me, but of course i just cruise on. LOL this few days i'll be bz reading the manual, still can't find the tranny dip stick. about the warranty, i think i'll extend it to 75K for 3 years
