D. Auxiliary Audio Input

Now you can connect virtually any audio device - MP3 player, portable CD or cassette player, and more - to your car radio. The audio connection is mounted securely in the glovebox of your 3 Series and has a 3.5mm stereo connector. Audio from the auxiliary input is selected using the "mode" button on your radio.

for us pre-9/02 owners, do you know if we can replace the deck in the car with the post-9/02 radio? I want Satellite radio, or even the aux input, but I don't know if it can be done.

I AM WONDERING CAN THIS BE USED WITH ANY OTHER MP3 PLAYER OR IS IT ONLY FOR AN IPOD....THIS WOULD BE PRETTY ASSININE IF YOU ASK ME BUT I DONT SEE MY I-RIVER MP3 PLUGGING INTO THIS KIT.....MAYBE I NEED AN ADAPTER???

I was using the iPod as 1 example of an audio device, since it is displayed in the brochure with said AUX input, and seems like the mp3 player most popular with BMW enthusiasts. (from observation)

OK I GUESS I JUST NEED TO LOOK INTO THIS FURTHER B/C IT DOES NOT APPEAR LIKE THE SAME TYPE OF CONNECTIONS FROM MY MP3 AND THE AUX INPUT....

I got a 99 e46 and i want to hook my ipod up!!! is there any way to get a ipod plug to go where the CD changer plug is? i have a cd changer i would disconnect

Ipod your BMW? Im not sure if this is available for your year\model? Actually I dont think it is at all...Theres always the Aux kit mentioned above.. You have to switch by hand though unlike the IPOD your BMW package, where your steering wheel functions remain..To me IPOD is going to be passing by soon egnough ill just wait for the next toy..
