Angry Throttle sticking when downshifting and is very annoying please help!

Hey guys. I wanted to know if anyone else encountered a similar problem. I have recently gotten the Dinan S package done to my 2002 E46 M3. Recently, when I got to down shift, and rev match, my rpm’s do not shoot up they seem to get stuck and I have to rev the car 2 to 3 times to get it in the proper rang. I thought it might be the Dinan software so I took it to get checked out today and they found no codes in the computer and said my car was okay. I have had the Dinan stuff done to my car about a month ago and things have been fine thus far. The exhaust also isn’t sounding the same. The Dinan dealer told me though that if a sensor goes for the cam shafts what I am talking about can happen. When I left the Dinan dealer my car was acting fine but 20 minutes later the same thing started again. To me the car feels also to be lacking some power. One of my friends has a 330CI told me BMW’s are just moody like that and that it will probably work itself out. Does anyone have any suggestions, input, or encountered something similar?

Thanks,

I only did Dinan stuff so I wouldn't void my warranty. I think it's the software acting up.

i have Dinan on my car also i have a 2002 M3 with SMG. Once in a GREAT! while i have that problem it is a known issue with Dinan software and the new M3's with SMG. I'm good friends with my dealer and the guys who work on my car. They even showed me the bulliton that said about the same thing that you are saying. It said it only happend in Auto mode though..there was a glitch..and i don't use Auto mode at all, well try not to hehe. ask them if you ahve the "latest" version of the software on your car. I'm not sure when you had gotten this done, but i know this was about 2-3 months ago when i saw that letter. I know they said that if i was having problems they would just try to update my software, or call Dinan and make sure there isn't an update they don't have on there own comptuer there at the dealer. I hope this helps. So how do you like your Dinan Exhaust? I have everyting for the Dinan S package exept the exhaust, i have been looking for a different exhaust, because i didn't know if i would like the exhaust to only come out one side i didn't know how it changed the sound and also the way it left carbon on the tips.

Oh, your warranty is voided on every part you replaced.

Dinan merely matches it with their own warranty which is the same duration as the original BMW one.

But good luck if your engine ever messes up. Dinan will fight you to the bitter end before they pay for a new one.

I just had my S package done about 3 weeks ago. My car has been running fine until a few days ago when it started to act wierd like this. It only seems to do it more in regular mode than sport. I have a regular 6 speed so I do not know if the problem with the SMG is the same as what I have. The Dinan exhaust sounds great and also looks real good. I did not get a chance to take pictures of my car since I got the S package done but I will soon. I have loved it all so far until my car has started to act up like it is doing now. To me if feels as the car has lost a bit of power too in 3rd gear up. I hope if just works itself out. I will go back to my Dinan dealer and have him look at it with me in the car to show him if it continues. He is a great guy and a friend of the family.

Later,

has it been cold there lately? I have noticed here in wisconsin that when it get's cold my car does some different thing's. I have never taken my M3 out in the winter so i don't know about that car. But i use to have a 323ci before the M3 and it seemed like some days it would run faster and harder than others, atleast in the colder weather.

It runs better in the cold. It was acting up on humid and rainy days. Today it is 25 outside and it's running like a champ.
