Coupes: Windows Squeks as it goes up and down?

Hey guys, I got a 2003 E46 330ci. Everytime I lower the windows or raise they squek? I have 5% Lumar tint (LIMO) on it as well. I just got the passenger side window replaced at my dealership because the coil inside unwinded or somthing. anyway is there anyway to fix these squeky noises? Thanx

I'm no expert but I think it has to do w/your tint, maybe it was done incorrectly or the film is peeling!! check it out, it mite be peeling!

On mine, the squeeky noise is the printed on "dots" that comes fatcory on the window. My side with tint doesn't squeek, I replaced teh driver(no tint) side and it squeeks.

try some silicon spray, $1.99 at autozone. fixed my sqeak.

do you just spray the silicon spray on the window or something? Will it peel my tint off? thanx

put your window down and spray it in the track(what the window slides up and down it). as far as it peeling the tint, i dont know, but i doubt it will.

A: This has been reported by a few, and they took their cars into a dealer for a window regulator or motor to be replaced. You might also want to try Gummi-Pfledge, a BMW rubber care product. A 2.1 ounce tube part # 82 14 9 407 015 retails for $7.50. It protects and takes care of rubber items. It prevents door weatherstrips from freezing up in winter and keeps the rubber pliable. I cleaned the strips with Spray-Nine prior to appling. Although it comes with its own applicator, using my forefinger was the way to go. Applied sparingly as recommended, one tube should last for years.

Update: BMW is currently redesigning the rubber window molding, it should be released in the first half of 2002, I'll post another followup as new is released.
