| i've had my brakes checked out twice now, is it just me? (Please HELP) i posted several months ago stating that my brakes felt "mushy" & "soft" (w/ an increased pedal travel) that developed over a period of maybe 2-4 weeks; i got various suggestions including bleeding the fluid; as i'm mechanically inept (or challenged), i waited for Inspection I (the 30,000 mile service) at which time the brakes were bled (~ 1 month ago); they still didn't feel right so i had them check out the brakes last friday; needless to say they couldn't duplicate or find anything wrong it's hard to say what they checked out exactly but my service adviser had the shop foreman (some dude w/ a german accent) come out & test drive the car, he also said the same thing (after describing to me how bmw has some of the best OE brakes in the business:blah
it feels like there is something wrong w/ the hydraulics-if that's possible(??? - again, as i said before, i'm mechanically inept ); it definitely feels like it takes quite a bit longer to stop & that i have to exert a whole lot more "pressure" to stop; i had a similar problem w/ my '01 325ci, only then my asc/dsc (or whatever it's called) light lit up (they had to change the master brake cylinder, again mr. foreman went on & on about how master brake cylinders are RARELY changed in a car w/ as few miles as i had on the car- essentially saying i made all this sh!t up) this time i don't have any warning lights lit up, i'm seriously wondering if they even checked anything out?
i don't really know what to do w/ the dealer, should i just go somewhere else (i prefer the dealer i'm currently going to as i get non-scheduled oil changes done there for $60-saves me the hassle of doing it myself)
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks |
